The friends of Local Foods campaign was run by FARMA (the national organisation representing farmers' markets, farm shops, and local food), starting in 2006, to raise awareness of local foods in government. We asked people like you to send half of one of our cards to Lord Rooker, Minister of Food and Farming, DEFRA, and the other half to us, FARMA. Thousands of your cards ended up in Lord Rooker's postbox, and later in 2006 he and FARMA had a sucessful meeting to discuss issues facing the local food sector. We continue to have a dialogue, now widening to other government departments and organisations... Thank you for all your help so far!
