What is GO! (Stallholder Certification) PDF Print E-mail

GO! is the first and only UK wide, independently inspected Certification scheme designed for food producers and stallholders at farmers’ markets to support claims about provenance.

GO! is designed by the National Farmers’ Retail and Markets’ Association (FARMA) to support Farmers’ Market certification by inspecting individual businesses, but it is evidence that producers can take into all areas of their business, including online sales.

GO! was only introduced in 2010, partly to combat misleading food labelling and false claims about provenance which outraged many shoppers, and partly to protect and promote genuine local producers.

What can I expect from a GO! certified producer?

GO! is carried out by an organisation who inspect many respected farm accreditation schemes. The inspector looks at the production site and scale, animal welfare and farming practices, all of which go towards guaranteeing a high standard of genuinely locally produced food.
